"I lived on a diet of chips...until I had hypnosis"

Many of you will have read this article in the Daily Mail on the 16th April 2014
Daily Mail link

It refers to a 20 year old woman who suffered from severe Selective Eating Disorder. She had eaten only dry toast and chips for 15 years and had tried many therapies before having hypnosis. The thought of eating any other food would make her feel sick and give her an anxiety attack. She had quit her job because she kept passing out. After one session of hypnotherapy she ate her first proper meal and was keen to try other foods.

Selective Eating Disorder is a fairly common problem. Many people will feel ashamed of the problem and find ways round it when with other people, such as saying they have just eaten or they are on a diet. They often refer to themselves as just being a fussy eater or a picky eater. Hypnotherapy can help change the subconscious attitude towards food and remove the mental block to trying other foods. Hypnosis also removes the anxiety associated with eating other foods. Hypnotherapy can be a life changing aid in overcoming this eating disorder. Some cases are not as severe as the woman in this article but nevertheless eat a very restricted diet which is usually based on very unhealthy foods. This can lead to weight gain or weight loss as well as medical problems and lack of energy.
